Week 7 - Homework = to keep on working on the projectwork
Hi class,
A reminder that your homework during the weeks (weeks 6-9) we are working on the project is to make sure that you are all taking an active part in creating the vlog and that you have covered all the points mentioned below in the project description.
Remember that you all should take notes when working on the task so that not only one person in the group has the written part/the manuscript for the vlog.
Deadline projectwork: We will start the oral presentations of the vlogs on Tuesday, March 7th.

world

You have together with two other classmates spent almost three
months in……………………. as exchange students participating in a global school exchange
program.
Your classmates back home miss you and are wondering how you
are doing and therefore your teacher has asked you to send a vlog/videoblog to
your class telling them about your exchange experience.
What is
the task?
*The task is to as a group produce a vlog/videoblog to your
classmates back home
Include
the following information in the videoblog:

facts about the English speaking country you are visiting:
- Where
in the world is it situated? What is the name of the capital city?
Approximately how many inhabitants does the country have? Why do they speak
English as an official language in this country? What is the historical
background?

have you seen so far of the country?
* Describe
the school system in this country and mention something about the class you are
in and how an ordinary school day is structured.
* Compare
this country´s school system to the one in Sweden which you are used to.
* Mention
something about you host family (=värdfamilj).
* Have
you planned to do any travelling before returning to Sweden next month?
* What do
you miss the most about Sweden and is there anything that you do not miss at
all?

How
to present the task?
You will work with the task in a group of three people and
together you gather information you need for the videoblog. Together as a group
as you also decide how to perform and present the videoblog as a group.
The videoblog is to be presented or ”performed” live in class
infront of half of the class. You do not need to hand in a written manuscript
but you will be asked to show your work during the weeks that we will be working
with this task. The points mentiond above should be included in your videoblog
but of course you are free to add and include other information as well. The
videoblog or videoblog ”live performance” should be approximatley between 5-10
minutes long.
Since this is a oral task the focus is on oral production and
interaction and that you try to speak as freely as you can with the help of
keywords. You may have notes or ”speaking cards” but you should try to avoid
reading word by word from a written manuscript.
You can include pictures and using a map or other things you
might find helpful for your presentation.

På onsdag 15/11 ska vi skriva en bokreflektion om boken vi läst. ni kommer att få ett antal frågor av mig som ni ska besvara på lektionstid. Det är enskilt arbete och kommer att betygssättas.

Veckan efter lovet ska vi skriva uppsats på temat "skräck". Det är viktigt att du har funderat ut vad du ska skriva om, så att du kan komma igång med skrivandet på en gång på första engelsklektionen - tisdagen efter lovet.

På läslovet (v. 44) ska ni läsa sidorna 115-140 i "There is a boy in the girls' bathroom". Ni har inte fått några frågor eller andra uppgifter på de sidorna, men på lektionen på måndagen efter lovet kommer ni att få frågor på de sidorna. Så glöm inte boken i skåpet när ni går hem på fredagen!

Läs kapitel 13-21 i "There is a Boy in the girls' Bathroom". Skriv i loggboken (från slutet i skrivboken). Svara på frågorna:
1. In chapter 15 why do you think Bradley says to his mother that Jeff hit him?
2. The author often repeats the phrase "Bradley sat at his desk - last seat, last row". Why do you think he does that?
3. In chapter 18 it is obvious that it is important to Bradley that Jeff is his firend, but then Jeff chooses his new friends over him. How did that make you feel?
4. In chapter 19 When Jeff leaves Carla's office he thinks he is glad to be out of there. Why do you think he feels that way?
5. There is quite a lot of lying in these chapters. Do ypou think it is sometimes necessary to lie?
6. Have you ever told a lie that made you feel rather bad afterwards?

Du kan läsa på texten Travelling around Florida s.6-7, Catching the Tube s. 8 och Pocket Money s. 10. Läs texterna och lär dig nya ord och fraser. Du kan lyssna på texterna igen på webbapp.liber.se. Där kan du också kolla att du kan orden. Det kommer också att vara en hörförståelse och en läsförståelse på provet. Dessa kan du bara indirekt förbereda dig för genom att läsa och lyssna på engelska texter. Du kan använda bokens texter eller hitta texter på internet, som du kan läsa och lyssna på och titta på engelskspråkiga program på Tv.

På onsdag v. 41 den 11/10 är det prov i engelska. Det kommer att vara en läs- och hörförståelse, som du inte kan förbereda dig för indirekt genom att läsa engelska texter och lyssna på engelska på Tv eller via datorn, men inte direkt plugga till. Det som du kan läsa på är emellertid de två första texterna i textbook s. 6-8 och s.10 (Travelleing around Florid, Catching the Tube och Pocket Money). De texterna kan du läsa och lära dig ord och fraser. Du kan även göra/repetera övningarna i workbook som hör till texterna s. 4-7.
